Monument Tattoos does offer piercings for individuals under the age of 18. To protect the interests of the families and to ensure the positive development of the individual's skin structure, we adhere to strict guidelines when it comes to which piercings we can perform and at what age. All minor piercings require a few different documents to make the paperwork process quick and easy. The state of Florida requires a notarized consent form to be filled out. When coming in to the shop, the parent or legal guardian must have their ID and the minor must either have their State or Federal issued ID or Birth Certificate with the name of the present parent. Legal Guardians must present court documents stating guardianship. IDs and Birth Certificates must either have matching last names or matching addresses between the adult and minor. Any name change due to marriage or legal purposes must require the documentation to confirm the name change. ALL DOCUMENTS WILL BE SCANNED AND CHECKED FOR FRAUD. ALL DOCUMENTS PRESENTED WILL BE COPIED AND HELD FOR THE LENGTH OF TIME LEGALLY REQUIRED BY STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR REFERENCE PURPOSES BY THE STATE ONLY. 
Minors under the age of 17 MUST have the consenting parent or legal guardian present to witness the piercing.

Minors Ages 10-13
Monument Tattoos will only pierce the lobes at this age range. These piercings are a sensitive matter as most minors this age range don't have a reference pain association and the chemical cleaning agents used to clean our room must be COMPLETELY dry before performing the piercing. Due to these conditions, we perform these piercings on an appointment basis ONLY. Typically appointments are set as the first appointment of the day and sometimes before normally shop opening time(before 11am).

Minors Ages 14-15
Minors of this age range have a few more options available to them yet are still limited to which they can get due to the development of the human body on average for individuals of this age range. Earlobes, Scapaha, Flat, Helix, and Nostril, and Septum Piercings are the only piercings we will perform on minors of this age. These piercings don't require an appointment, though it is preferred.

Minors Ages 16-17
At this age range, we will perform all piercings EXCEPT Nipple or Genital piercings.
